Among the many things that you need for healthy skin, a moisturizer is something that needs special attention. It’s known to be particularly good for hair in addition to facial skin.

There are two ways to give a nice moisturizing therapy to your skin. One is by using any of the commercial beauty products, and the other way is to use items present in your very own kitchen. Of course, the first method is going to cost you a lot of money (and the benefits are not always guaranteed), but in the case of the latter, you can get the best results and save money too.

Let’s take a look at five DIY moisturizer recipes for skin and hair that you can make at home.

1. Coconut Curl Moisturizing Conditioner

To make this simple moisturizer, mix the following ingredients in the recommended quantity:

One cup of purified water, 3 tbsp of lime juice, half cup aloe vera juice, 2 tbsp glycerin, five vitamin E capsules, 1 tbsp melted coconut oil, and 2 tbsp of any essential oil. Store the solution in an airtight bottle under refrigerated temperature for later use.

 2. Whipped Shea Butter + Grapeseed Oil

Mix the following ingredients in the recommended quantity: Half cup of unrefined shea butter, one tsp organic honey, ¼ cup aloe vera gel, and 2 tbsp grapeseed oil.

However, before you do, remember to melt the shea butter by placing it in a small bowl of boiling water. Allow it to melt completely. The next thing you need to do is whip the butter thoroughly until it becomes fluffy. Then, add honey and grapeseed oil and whip it again and finally add raw aloe vera gel to the mixture.

After you have mixed the essential elements, use it on your face and after use, store it in a cool dark place.

3. Aloe Refreshing Moisturizer

Aloe is not only a powerful moisturizer for the hair but also the best moisturizer for acne prone skin.

To make a refreshing aloe moisturizer for your skin, take the following items: one-fourth cup of water, 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, 2 tbsp glycerin, 2 tbsp aloe vera juice, and a few drops of any essential oil.

Put everything in a bottle and shake it mildly so that the ingredients mix well. Refrigerate the bottle and use it for a maximum of five days.

4. Whipped Shea Leave-In Conditioner

If you are looking for a fast mix, then take half a cup of unrefined shea butter, half a cup of leave-in conditioner, a quarter cup of jojoba oil, and any essential oil of your choice. As mentioned earlier in the other recipe, melt the shea butter by keeping it on a cup over boiling water until it melts completely to liquid form. Now, whip the butter in a mixer and add the oils and whip it again. Finally, add the conditioner and again whip mildly at a low speed. The moisturizer is ready. Store it in your refrigerator for later use.

5. Cinnamon, Honey and Milk Moisturizing Conditioner

Honey might have surprised you with its magical results for chapped lips. Now, it's time to use allow your skin and hair to experience the magic. Honey is a powerful antioxidant, antibacterial agent that works extremely when combined with milk. The latter is loaded with proteins that help soften the skin and shine up the hair as well. Cinnamon helps improve blood circulation and naturally enhances the quality of the skin. One of the best things you can do for your skin is taking a mixture of cinnamon, honey, and milk and applying it on.

The recommended quantity of each ingredient is as follows:

2 tbsp of powdered Cinnamon, 2 tbsp of Honey, 4 tbsp of milk, a couple of egg whites, and 1/4th Cup of Mayonnaise.

How to use the moisturizing conditioner

Combine the required ingredients in their recommended quantities in a glass bowl and heat the mixture slightly. Not directly, though, keep the mixture in a vessel and keep the vessel in hot water. Apply the mixture on your skin/hair and clean it after 15-20 minutes.

CONCLUSION
